TEGUCIGALPA, Jan. 5 (Xinhua) The Honduran government announced Tuesday the mobilization of 4,000 health workers to curb the spread of COVID-19 in densely populated areas.
The workers will be part of a national program inaugurated Tuesday by President Juan Orlando Hernandez at a military facility in the capital Tegucigalpa.
The medical brigades, joined by personnel from the fire department and the army, will detect infections through early testing and provide treatment, said the president. We want to prevent any complications in patients who may be infected or be asymptomatic, said Rolando Soto, a doctor and member of the brigades.
