Democrats need more than We re better than awful

Democrats need more than ‘We’re better than awful’ The McDonough County Voice Fourteen of Illinois’ 18 Members of Congress voted to impeach President Trump Wednesday, including Republican Adam Kinzinger of Channahon. Four other GOPers – Mike Bost, Rodney Davis, Mary Miller and Darin LaHood voted with Trump. Kinzinger and nine other Republicans made it a bipartisan effort, but the 232-197 tally underscored how the action was driven by Democrats. Now, with electoral victories adding the White House and Senate to Democrats’ House majority, a political challenge presents itself to them: What does the Democratic Party stand for in a post-Trump nation?

Rep Tom Reed: Now is not the time for further violence

Congressman denounces plans calling for weekend protests at state capitols The Evening Tribune WASHINGTON Did the assault on the U.S. Capitol by supporters of President Donald Trump mark the culmination of post-2020 election discord, or the beginning?  Rep. Tom Reed (R-Corning) denounced plans circulating online calling for armed protests at state capitols and the U.S. Capitol, beginning this weekend.  “Now is not the time for further violence. Now is the time for (Trump) supporters, who are very angry, to not commit any additional violence, to remain peaceful and not ‘take to the streets’,” Reed said in a Wednesday press call.

Previously on Pardon Me (Another Damn Impeachment Show?): House Democrats voted to impeach President Trump on two Articles of Impeachment: abuse of power and obstruction of Congress. He was later acquitted promptly after Senate Republicans voted against calling witnesses or admitting new evidence. Now (less than 48 weeks later), on Season Two of Pardon Me: House Democrats, along with 10 Republicans, voted to impeach President Trump Wednesday on one Article of Impeachment: incitement of insurrection. Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell, R-Ky., promptly responded that there ll be no trial while he s Senate leader. The more things change, the more they stay the same.

Fellow Army veteran Parnell defends Rep Mast after gross smear by CNN s Tapper: Below the belt

Florida Republican reacts to mainstream media host s unapologetic criticism on Hannity EXCLUSIVE 2020 Republican congressional candidate Sean Parnell, a U.S. Army combat veteran, blasted CNN’s Jake Tapper recent comments about Rep. Brian Mast, R-Fla., as below the belt and a slap in the face to veterans from someone who bills himself as one of their closest allies. Obviously I’m disappointed in Jake Tapper’s comments about Brian because a part, not a small part, of Tapper’s public profile is his supposed, steadfast support of our nation’s veterans, right? For a moment, albeit a brief one, the mask came completely off, Parnell told Fox News.
