Joe Biden s Memoir ‘Promises To Keep’ To Be Published In Russia Later This Year
The Russian bookshops will also start selling US Vice President-elect Kamala Harris book titled ‘The Truths We Hold: An American Journey’ in March.
US President-elect Joe Biden s memoir titled ‘Promises to Keep: On Life and Politics’ will be first published in Russia in April 2021. The Russian publishing house Eksmo on January 5 said that in May it is also planning to publish a book by Biden’s wife, Dr. Jill Biden, titled ‘Where the Light Enters: Building a Family, Discovering Myself’.
Joe Biden’s memoir was first published in 2007 when he was a member of the US Senate. His book sheds light on his life, family, and political career. It gives details about the 1972 car accident that killed his first wife Neilia and their one-year-old daughter Naomi, and the struggles he faced in its aftermath. Joe Biden s Most Shared Tweets of 2020

A tweet sent after news outlets confirmed him as the winner of the 2020 presidential election, and another advising people not to drink bleach to fight coronavirus, are among the most popular posts sent by president-elect Joe Biden this year.
While his social media presence is nowhere near as unpredictable or headline-grabbing as Donald Trump s, Biden has still managed to create huge buzz online this election year.
On November 7, after virtually all news outlets declared him the winner of the election following several days of postal vote counting in Pennsylvania, Biden sent his most popular tweet of all time.
Â
Last week, the Wall Street Journal published an op-ed piece demeaning First Lady-elect Jill Biden for using the title Doctor.Â
Â
Dr. Biden rightly earned a PhD in education from the University of Delaware of that, there is no disagreement. The writer argues that because she doesn t have a medical degree, it is improper for Jill Biden to use this honorific.
Â
There are currently over 3 million PhDs in the US. It s highly unlikely most of them are told they shouldn t be using the title they worked hard to obtain.Â
Â
The tone of the article implies that the writer is particularly upset because Dr Biden is a woman (in fact, at one point he even refers to her demeaningly as kiddo). He s very much out of date. Over the last several years, American universities have minted more women than men as PhDs.Â
What response did the piece receive?
The WSJ piece sparked massive outrage on social media with people calling it sexist, misogynist and emblematic of the ways men question women’s credentials. Many women with PhDs added Dr to their names on Twitter in solidarity and used the hashtags #MyTitleIsDr and #DrJillBiden to talk about their experiences. A number of medical doctorate holders came out in Biden’s support, crediting it “as valid as it gets”, and tweeted about how difficult it is to get a PhD.
Michael LaRosa, a spokesman for Biden, called Epstein’s piece a “disgusting and sexist attack” and urged the publication to remove it and apologise, while Biden responded indirectly in a tweet, saying: “Together, we will build a world where the accomplishments of our daughters will be celebrated, rather than diminished.”
