In a separate statement last week, Sen. Josh Hawley, Missouri Republican, said that he would object to the certification of the results of the 2020 presidential election, which saw President-elect Joseph R. Biden declared the winner amid allegations of voter fraud in some key swing states.
Those allegations have been rejected by multiple courts, in some cases on procedural grounds, and then-Attorney General William Barr, who said he found no evidence of widespread voter fraud that would alter the result of the election.

“It all seemed so clear we overlooked one of the main participants in the theft of the election: THE REPUBLICANS,” Mr. Wood, 68, said in a series of conspiratorial posts he made on the platform.
Mr. Wood subsequently argued Vice President Mike Pence, Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell and Chief Justice John Roberts should all be arrested for alleged treason.
“Let the military LOCK THEM ALL UP,” he tweeted. “They are traitors. It must be done if our country is to survive & once again serve as a bright beacon of light that provides hope of freedom to the world.”
Mr. Wood, whose Twitter account is followed by nearly a million others, was a co-counsel in several lawsuits filed by fellow pro-Trump lawyer Sidney Powell last month seeking to overturn the election.

A federal judge on Friday dismissed a lawsuit led by President Trump’s allies in Congress that aimed to pressure Vice-President Mike Pence to overturn the results of the election, dealing a blow to lawmakers’ last-ditch effort to challenge President-elect Joseph R. Biden Jr’s victory.
Judge Jeremy D. Kernodle of the Eastern District of Texas ruled that Republican lawmakers, led by Representative Louie Gohmert of Texas, lacked the proper standing to sue Pence in the matter. The lawsuit challenged the more than century-old law that governs the Electoral College process, in an attempt to expand an otherwise ceremonial role into one with the power to reject electoral votes that were cast for Biden.
