Democrats, along with allies in Silicon Valley and the news media, have suppressed the Hunter Biden scandal despite mounting evidence that President-elect Joseph R. Biden’s son had secret, lucrative financial ties to oligarchs and a powerful communist-connected Chinese businessman.
Since September, it has been a remarkable combination of blacklisting, promoting the theory of a Russian plot against the Bidens or simply ignoring the story. Liberal news websites acknowledged the scandal only after Mr. Biden won the election and Hunter Biden publicly stated that he is under criminal investigation for suspected tax fraud.

WASHINGTON President Trump’s dismissive characterization of a massive cyberattack targeting multiple U.S. agencies drew pushback Sunday from lawmakers and cybersecurity experts amid growing questions over the president’s refusal to acknowledge that Russia was likely behind the intrusions.
A month before President-elect Joseph R. Biden takes office, Trump remains preoccupied with his falsehood-filled campaign to overturn the results of November’s election, and gave no indication that the United States would seek to punish those responsible for an unprecedented breach whose full scope was still being assessed.
The president, who has not conceded the election, has held out the possibility of running again in 2024.
Mr. Christie, a Republican who has served as an informal adviser and helped Mr. Trump prepare for the presidential debates, has been increasingly critical of the president’s post-election legal efforts to overturn President-elect Joseph R. Biden’s victory.
The president, whose team filed a new complaint with the Supreme Court over the weekend, says Mr. Biden won with the aid of millions of illegal ballots.
The former governor has called the president’s “legal theory … an absurdity.”
“The reason the Supreme Court is not taking this is not because of a lack of courage,” Mr. Christie said a week ago on ABC News, after the high court rejected a different claim. “It’s for the same reason that every court has thrown this out it’s a lack of evidence.”
Biden’s Energy, Environment Post Picks Tasked with Confronting ‘Existential’ Climate Change Threat
President-elect Joseph R. Biden Jr. on Thursday unveiled his selections for the top climate and energy posts in his administration, leaving little doubt of an impending sea change in federal policy when he takes office on Jan. 20.
The nominations and appointments comprise U.S. Rep. Deb Haaland (D-NM), Department of the Interior (DOI) secretary; former Michigan Gov. Jennifer Granholm, Department of Energy (DOE) secretary; Michael Regan, Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) administrator; Brenda Mallory, chair of the Council on Environmental Quality (CEQ); former EPA Administrator Gina McCarthy, national climate adviser; and Ali Zaidi, deputy national climate adviser.
“Mr. Becerra has consistently used the power of his office to attack people who think differently than him and to advance the interests of the abortion lobby when he had the authority to do so,” the letter said.
The letter spearheaded by Students for Life Action cited Mr. Becerra’s hostility to religious and conscience exemptions from abortion and birth control requirements, including his ongoing legal battle with the Little Sisters of the Poor over the state’s contraception mandate.
“We the undersigned have grave concerns about how he would use the power of the nation’s healthcare systems to advance his preference for abortion and express his disregard for people of faith by forcing support, payment, and compliance with policies that he prefers,” the letter said.
