Sole Finest PCGS 1917-D Mercury Dime Offered by GreatCollections
Most dimes struck in 1917 come relatively nice, and the 9,402,000 minted in
Denver are no exception, with Full Bands not exactly uncommon. Nevertheless, while it is certainly less famous than the 19
16-D, the 1917-D is almost as rare in high Mint State. One explanation for this might be that it was not hoarded like its first-year-of-issue predecessor. As mentioned above, PCGS has graded only one example at MS-67, with none higher. For comparison’s sake, 44 examples have been graded MS-65 as of the date of publication, with two graded MS-65+, and 13 examples have been certified MS-66, with four almost there at MS-66+.

While New York City and state have announced plans to help restart the embattled arts and culture sector, a coalition of artists is saying that s not enough. Dozens of them, led by the Music Workers Alliance and Invest In Our New York, rallied outside Governor Andrew Cuomo’s Midtown office on Thursday to call for more immediate help.
They re calling for a “new WPA, short for the federal Works Progress Administration, which helped artists of all stripes survive the Great Depression.
One of those attending was Nathaniel Marro, a booking agent for musicians. He cited a state survey estimating that almost two-thirds of the city’s artists are unemployed. But in his circles, he said, unemployment was even higher.
