Democrats plan to introduce legislation to add four seats to the Supreme Court. If passed by the Senate (big if), the bill would allow President Biden to name four nominees to fill those seats. It won t become law as long as Democrats maintain such a narrow Senate majority, but 2022 is coming up and it s a brushback pitch to warn SCOTUS conservatives about nakedly partisan decisions. Via Vox:
The bill, which is being introduced by Reps. Jerrold Nadler (D-NY), Hank Johnson (D-GA), and Mondaire Jones (D-NY) in the House and by Sen. Ed Markey (D-MA) in the Senate, is called the Judiciary Act of 2021, and it is very brief. It amends a provision of federal law providing that the Supreme Court consist of a chief justice and eight associate justices to read that the Court shall consist of ‘‘a Chief Justice of the United States and twelve associate justices, any eight of whom shall constitute a quorum.”

At the height of the Great Depression, President Franklin Roosevelt put America to work. In 1935, when 1 in 5 Americans were unemployed, Washington launched the Works Progress Administration, still the largest public works initiative in the country’s history. Its initial appropriation was $4.9 billion (about $90 billion in today’s dollars), and within three years, it had provided jobs to 3 million Americans.
The WPA’s scope still boggles the mind. Per Smithsonian Magazine, the project “built, improved or renovated 39,370 schools; 2,550 hospitals; 1,074 libraries; 2,700 firehouses; 15,100 auditoriums, gymnasiums and recreational buildings; 1,050 airports, 500 water treatment plants, 12,800 playgrounds, 900 swimming pools; 1,200 skating rinks, plus many other structures.”

As expected, the Democrats will introduce a bill to change the Supreme Court turning into the first WOKE institution to permanently change the face of the United States once and for all. Biden pretended to create a commission to study changing the Supreme Court and within a matter of days, they proposed stacking the Supreme Court adding
four Justices to ensure the Court will be WOKE.
The Judicial Procedures Reform Bill of 1937, frequently called the “court-packing plan”, was a legislative initiative proposed by U.S. President Franklin D. Roosevelt to add more justices to the U.S. Supreme Court in order to obtain favorable rulings regarding the New Deal legislation. Franklin D. Roosevelt (FDR) was trying to take the United States as close as possible to Communism thanks to the New York Times and their star journalist Walter Duranty (1884-1957) who convinced FDR to recognize the Communist government of Russia (see film
Earth Day this year is making me feel a little cynical about the state of the planet. It seems like every month there’s a new big story about how dire our current trajectory is, how it could destroy us all, and how we desperately need to make change and fast to avoid annihilation. But of course, disinformation, economic inequality, and governmental ineffectiveness plague the U.S. and the world. The people most impacted by climate change are the least responsible for it, and those most responsible have no incentive to change their behavior. Why would they, when this system is working out pretty well for them.

$16 Billion NY Penn Station South Project Is Fantasy
Dear Editor:
The adopted New York State budget approved $1.3 billion toward the $16 billion Empire Station Complex is just the first installment. The funds are suppose to pay for transit improvements at NY Penn Station. It will be years before the environmental review process along with design and engineering are completed and any construction contracts can be awarded to support any transit improvements.
There remains a fatal financial flaw for the overall funding package. This $16 billion project, just like the Port Authority $10 billion new 42nd Street midtown Manhattan bus Terminal, are both counting on the sale of air rights as a source for billions to help defray construction costs. There is a glut of surplus office space in Hudson Yards west of Penn Station and other Manhattan neighborhoods The Penn Station Empire Station Complex and Port Authority Bus Terminal projects are both located on the west si
