Four local footballers in Somalia were killed when a powerful explosion ripped through their bus on Friday in what the country s president branded a barbaric terrorist attack .
Ten players from the Jubaland Chamber of Commerce and Industry club were heading off for a game at the Kismayo city stadium in southern Somalia when the blast hit. x The players were riding in a bus when the explosion went off, presumably inside the vehicle. There are investigations going on but we presume the device was planted onto the bus, said police officer Mohamed Sadiq.
He said four football players were killed and five others wounded in the explosion, believed to have been caused by a bomb.

Mogadishu, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 26th Jul, 2021 ) :Somalia has delayed elections that were due to start on Sunday after months of political crisis in the deeply unstable Horn of Africa country, officials told AFP.
Indirect parliamentary and presidential polls were due to open on July 25 with four days of voting for the upper house by state delegates. The election cycle was due to end with a presidential poll on October 10. Even though the plan was the upper house election to start around the various states today, there is a delay, the electionmay not take place as planned, a member of the electoral commission told AFP on condition of anonymity.
