Human rights council head predicts growth in Internet regulation
YEKATERINBURG. April 8 (Interfax) - The regulation of Internet activities may increase in Russia, Valery Fadeyev, chairman of the Presidential Council for Civil Society and Human Rights, said. As to the general tendency, although some people may not be glad to hear it, I think the degree of Internet regulation will increase. And not because someone is tightening the screws, Fadeyev told reporters in Yekaterinburg on Thursday.
Fadeyev made an analogy to the appearance of cars. When cars appeared some 120 years ago, there were no traffic rules, there were no traffic lights, and everyone drove the way they wanted. The number of cars increased, rules were introduced. [.] It s the same thing here, he said.

And the visit has already come under fire, for example from the European Parliament, for a mix of its problematic timing, the ultimate goal of the mission, and lack of clarity or concrete agenda and meetings that will take place in Moscow.
