Biden Administration’s Strategy for National Security: All Geopolitics and Climate Change
March 6 , 2021 (EIRNS) Geopolitics and the “climate crisis” permeate every component of the “Interim National Security Strategic Guidance,” the 24-page strategic document released by the White House on March 3, making the passionate language within the document about economic and other measures to improve the welfare of the American people so much double talk.
On the geopolitical side, the document clearly shows that this administration’s intent is to gather the world’s “democracies” into an alliance against Russia and China and their “malign” influence on the world. Twenty years is a long time for stabilising any conflict-ridden country, but Afghanistan has frequently defied timelines and solutions. It has been one year since the United States and the Afghan Taliban signed a landmark agreement leading to a political settlement between Kabul and the Islamic insurgents. However, the February 2020 Doha agreement and the subsequent negotiations have failed to bring Afghanistan anywhere near peace, even as the Joe Biden administration is hard-pressed to make a final decision regarding the withdrawal of the US troops. For obvious reasons, India wants the US to remain invested in Afghanistan, militarily, diplomatically and economically.

Senior Hamas leaders have met with Russian Deputy Foreign Minister and Presidential Special Envoy for the Middle East and Africa Mikhail Bogdanov to discuss political developments, Hamas disclosed on Thursday.
In a statement posted on Hamas s official website, the Palestinian movement announced that the delegation comprised members of Hamas Political Bureau Dr Mousa Abu Marzouq and Zaher Jabarin, as well as Hamas s representative in Moscow.

A senior delegation from Islamic Jihad in Palestine arrived in Moscow on Monday to discuss the Palestinian cause with Russian officials, the organisation has confirmed in a media statement.
Islamic Jihad pointed out that an official invitation was received from the Russian Foreign Ministry to visit Moscow for this purpose. The delegation includes Secretary-General Ziyad Al-Nakhalah.

MANILA – Philippine Ambassador to Bahrain Alfonso Ver reported on Wednesday that a total of 1,075 Filipinos have so far benefited from government assistance and Bahrain’s flexi visa system.
The flexi visa is a residence and work permit made available for migrants who have no legal immigration status in Bahrain.
Through the Philippine Embassy in Manama, the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) covered the cost of the payment of the visa fee for Filipinos who availed of the program.
