Clemson Celebrates 2020-21 UPIC Interns
Clemson University’s University Professional Internship and Co-op Program (UPIC) has become a pillar of development for students to utilize during their time as a Tiger. Clemson’s Student-Athlete Development department, led by Assistant Directors Sable Lee and Anthony Hines, is proud to have helped 24 student-athletes take advantage of the program while continuing to pursue excellence at their sport during the 2020 fall semester.
“I couldn’t be prouder of this group of student-athletes,” said Lee. “Their dedication to their professional growth amid a pandemic is to be recognized and honored. Thank you to ONE Clemson, Dr. Lori Pindar, Robin Bradley, and all of our mentors who made an impact on our student-athletes.”

CEBU CITY – Presidential Communications Operations Office Secretary Martin Andanar welcomed the passage of the Media Workers Welfare Bill on third and final reading at the House of Representatives, a step closer to realizing a law that provides protection and additional benefits for members of the media.

“We laud ACT-CIS Rep. Niña Taduran who authored the bill as well as the 218 congressmen who voted in favor of House Bill 8140 or the proposed Media Workers Welfare Act,” Andanar said in a statement released to media Tuesday here during the “Explain, Explain, Explain: Pagduaw sa Cebu ug Mandaue,” the kick-off of the government’s COVID-19 vaccination information campaign.

Simon, a customs official with 31 years of distinguished service in the government sector, is the lone recipient of the group’s first-ever “Environmental Justice Award” coinciding with the national observance of “Zero Waste Month” this January.

Andanar lauded the House of Representatives’ approval of the bill that seeks to provide additional benefits and protection for media workers. House Bill No. 8140 or the proposed Media Workers Welfare Act, authored by ACT-CIS party-list Rep. Niña Taduran, received the support of 218 lawmakers.
“This brings us a step closer to realizing a law that provides protection and additional benefits for members of the media,” Andanar said.
“Our continued endeavor to help push for the bill’s passage is another testament to the Duterte administration’s desire to protect and uphold the rights, welfare, and safety of media workers,” said.
