State University System Chancellor Marshall Criser III said Wednesday that the presidential search process at Florida State University should continue, despite a Board of Governors member s suggestion to halt the process.
Criser’s letter was in response to an email Tuesday from BOG member Alan Levine. Levine raised concerns about a letter sent last week from Belle Wheelan, president of the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges.
In her letter, Wheelan cautioned Board of Governors chairman Syd Kitson that forwarding the name of Florida Education Commissioner Richard Corcoran as a presidential candidate could threaten FSU’s accreditation status since it would pose a conflict of interest.
