Penultimate Monday night’s visit by All Progressives Congress, APC leaders Asiwaju Bola Tinubu and Chief Bisi Akande to President Muhammadu Buhari was perhaps the most visible show of concern by elements in the ruling party to the distress in the land.
Tinubu came out of the meeting pleading with Nigerians to join hands with the government to address the many concerns about insecurity, economy, and other issues in the land.
The call from Tinubu and his visit to the president undoubtedly reflected the unease he may have felt with the happenings in the land.

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has again debunked the allegation that N10 billion that was generated from sales of forms from the 2019 election is missing and challenged its accuser, Mr. Kassim Afegbua, a former member of its Presidential Campaign Council, to show evidence of the alleged missing fund.
Afegbua, in a petition to both the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) and the Independent and Corrupt Practices Commission (ICPC), had accused the PDP of diverting the N10 billion realised from sales of forms and donations to the party, and demanded a probe into the allegation.
The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has denied the allegation by one of its members, Kassim Afegbua, that it realised about N10 billion from the sale of forms in 2019.
Mr Kola Ologbondiyan, who is the National Publicity Secretary of the party, described the claim as spurious and irresponsible.
Afegbua had petitioned the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) and the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC), seeking the probe of the party’s leadership.
But Ologbondiyan stated there was no truth in the allegation, stressing that the party generated N4.6 billion and raised a budget for its expenditure, in line with all known financial regulations of the PDP.
