Following the statement of the Senior Special Assistant to President Muhammadu Buhari on Media and Publicity, Garba Shehu, that Governor Oluwarotimi Akeredolu of Ondo State should exercise caution over the order that herdsmen should vacate Ondo forests with seven days, the state government on Wednesday lashed out on the presidential spokesperson.
While emphasizing that Shehu was speaking for himself and not the president, the state Commissioner for Information, Donald Ojogo, said that Shehu’s defence of criminal elements under the guise of herdsmen was suspicious.
Ojogo, who maintained that Shehu’s stance was most unacceptable, said it goes a long way to show that Miyetti Allah could not have done better.
Trump earlier on Wednesday departed the White House for his successor, Joe Biden.
Biden was sworn in few hours later as the 46th President of the United State.
Shortly after footage of Trump leaving the White House was made public, Morgan took to Instagram, describing Trump as a loser.
Sharing a photo of himself with Trump, he noted that the former President would have been re-elected if he had shown leadership and empathy in the past year.

Akpabio, NDDC, ex-militants plan faster Niger Delta development

The Minister of Niger Delta Affairs, Senator Godswill Akpabio, the Interim Administrator of the Presidential Amnesty Programme, Col. Milland Dikio (retd.), and the Interim Administrator of the Niger Delta Development Commission, Effiong Akwa, on Friday met with ex-militant leaders and Niger Delta chiefs to brainstorm on how to fast-track the development of the region.
The meeting, which held behind closed doors, took place at the palace of the king of Okichirin in Okrika, His Royal Majesty Ateke Tom, who assembled first-class chiefs and ex-militant leaders for the deliberations.

LATELY, there have been undercurrents from a number of persons who feel Niger Delta militants have turned empty barrels, issuing threats all the time to blow up oil facilities while kidnappers, armed robbers and other criminals run riot in parts of the oil region.
Residents resentful of those they call “internet” militants, “laptop” and “newspaper” militants, who they accused of looking for settlement, dared them to confront the criminals terrorizing the people or stop disturbing their peace with endless sound of threats.

The federal government has budgeted N765 billion for the Social Investment Programmes (SIPs), a key empowerment scheme of the President Muhammadu Buhari-led administration.

According to details virtually presented Tuesday by the Minister of Finance, Zainab Ahmed, N400 billion will go directly to the programme while N365 billion will go into ”upscaling the programme”.
The latter was an addition approved by the president.
