The staff of the National Identification Management Commission NIMC has apologized to the Minister of Digital Economy, Isa Pantami, for going on strike.
DAILY POST recalls that NIMC staff went on strike to protest their poor working conditions and the lack of PPEs to protect themselves against Coronavirus.
Their strike disrupted the ongoing NIN registration exercise in most parts of the country.
However, the union leaders in a meeting with Pantami apologized to him for going on strike.
This was stated in a tweet from the Federal Ministry of Communications and Digital Economy on Twitter.
”The Honourable Minister of Communications and Digital Economy, Dr Isa Pantami, is holding an official meeting with the labour union representing NIMC under the aegis of the Association of Senior Civil Servants of Nigeria, NIMC branch.
COVID-19: Abba Moro reacts to news of Ortom contracting coronavirus, calls for prayers

Moro, who described the report as disturbing, wished Ortom a speedy recovery.
The lawmaker said he has no doubt that Ortom will come out better and stronger.
In a statement, Abba Moro enjoined “all sons and daughters of the State to pray for the quick recovery of the Governor and all those diagnosed with the virus in the State and across the country.”
Moro also urged residents of the state to always “adhere strictly to the precautionary measures by government and health experts.”

SECRETAY-GENERAL, Ijaw Youth Council, IYC, Mr Frank Pukon, yesterday, accused President Muhammadu Buhari administration of dividing Niger-Delta and bequeathing a strange legacy to the oil-rich region.
Pukon, in a statement challenging Mr President to openly declare his legacy to the region, stated: “The Niger Delta today has not been divided in any other time, then this time when you are the commander-in-chief with regard to the region’s socio-economic development and political advancement.”

Sole Administrator in the NDDC and Interim Administrator for the Presidential Amnesty Programme. We, in the Niger Delta, can only hope and pray to God when you finally sack the Minister of Niger Delta Affairs, Senator Godswill Akpabio that you will not come up with a strange name for the ministry.
2021 Budget: FG to inject N765bn into social investment programmes

The federal government has budgeted N765 billion for the Social Investment Programmes (SIPs), a key empowerment scheme of the President Muhammadu Buhari-led administration.

According to details virtually presented Tuesday by the Minister of Finance, Zainab Ahmed, N400 billion will go directly to the programme while N365 billion will go into ”upscaling the programme”.
The latter was an addition approved by the president.

A former militant leader in Edo state, Ogidigba Godstime condemned the way and manner resources meant for the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC) and other intervention agencies like the Presidential Amnesty and the Ministry of Niger Delta were being underutilised just as he accused the presidency of deliberately putting stooges at the helm of affairs of intervention agencies.
