The Congress on Saturday slammed Union minister M Venkaiah Naidu for his remarks on the importance of learning Hindi and asked him not to give sermons and befool the country with his party’s parochial views.
“Surprisingly and ironically, Venkaiah Naidu is giving us sermons on importance of Hindi in English which he is deprecating.

The monsoon session of Parliament will commence on July 17, the day voting for the presidential election will take place.
The Cabinet Committee on Parliamentary Affairs (CCPA) has recommended holding the session from July 17 to August 11, according to sources in the committee.
The CCPA meeting, chaired by Home Minister Rajnath Singh, was held last evening after NDA presidential nominee Ram Nath Kovind filed his nomination papers.

The AIADMK (Amma), led by Chief Minister K Palaniswami, on Wednesday declared its support to NDA’s Presidential nominee Ram Nath Kovind.
The announcement came two days after Prime Minister Narendra Modi rang up Palaniswami to seek his party’s support for the National Democratic Alliance nominee.
A press release issued by the AIADMK headquarters here recalled the Prime Minister calling up palaniswami, who is also party headquarters Secretary, seeking support for Kovind and said the matter was discussed today by the high command.

Nominations for the presidential poll have been filed by twenty four persons till Wednesday, whereas no candidate backed by political parties has filed the papers for the top constitutional post so far. On the seventh day of nominations on Wednesday, two persons submitted their papers. Agni Sriramchandran from Dharmapuri and Lalu Prasad Yadav from Saran were the two who filed their nominations.
