Bursa turns mixed in mid-morning

KUALA LUMPUR (March 1): Bursa Malaysia turned mixed in the mid-morning with the key index rising 0.25%, lifted by advances in heavyweights.  At 11.05am, the benchmark FBM KLCI had risen 4.44 points to 1,582.19 from 1,577.75 at last Friday’s closing. The key index opened 0.95 of a point higher at 1,578.70. Market breadth was negative with losers leading gainers 550 to 483, while 389 counters were unchanged, 721 untraded and 14 others suspended.   Total volume stood at 3.85 billion units worth RM2.27 billion. Among the heavyweights, IHH Healthcare Bhd jumped 24 sen to RM5.32, Public Bank Bhd and Malayan Banking Bhd (Maybank) advanced eight sen each to RM4.24 and RM8.11 respectively and Petronas Chemicals Group Bhd (PetChem) surged 17 sen to RM2.28, while Tenaga Nasional Bhd (TNB) soared 20 sen to RM10.30 and Press Metal Aluminium Holdings Bhd appreciated 11 sen to RM9.80. 

KLCI stays muted as market breadth negative in line with regional fall

KUALA LUMPUR (Feb 26): The main index of Bursa Malaysia remained muted in the mid-morning, while market breadth turned negative in line with lower regional markets. At 10am, the FBM KLCI was up 0.30 points at 1,581.84. The index earlier slipped to a low of 1,578.92. Market breadth was negative with 711 losers and 271 gainers, while 349 counters traded unchanged. Trading volume was 2.66 billion shares valued at  RM1.43 billion. The gainers included D&O Green Technologies Bhd, Hong Leong Financial Group Bhd (HLFG), UEM Edgenta Bhd, Press Metal Aluminium Holdings Bhd, Industronics Bhd and MSM Malaysia Holdings Bhd. The actively traded stocks included XOX Bhd, Puncak Niaga Holdings Bhd, ManagePay Systems Bhd, Industonics, Lion Industries Corp Bhd and MSM Malaysia.

KLCI gains 0 83% on bargain hunting in line with regional advance

At 10am, the FBM KLCI was up 12.99 points to 1,570.54. Market breadth was positive with 611 gainers and 264 losers, while 390 counters traded unchanged. Trading volume was 2.98 billion shares valued at RM1.22 billion. The gainers included Malaysian Pacific Industries Bhd, ViTrox Corp Bhd, Nestle (M) Bhd, Press Metal Aluminium Holdings Bhd, Uchi Technologies Bhd, Euro Holdings Bhd, Hong Leong Financial Group Bhd, D&O Green Technologies Bhd and Aeon Credit Service (M) Bhd. The actively traded stocks included Permaju Industries Bhd, Fintec Global Bhd, XOX Bhd, YKGI Holdings Bhd, Velesto Energy Bhd, Metronic Global Bhd and Alam Maritim Resources Bhd. The decliners included Pharmaniaga Bhd, Ajinomoto (M) Bhd, KESM Industries Bhd, Milux Holdings Bhd, Heineken Malaysia Bhd, Elsoft Research Bhd, Bursa Malaysia Bhd and Dutch Lady Milk Industries Bhd.
