Three charged with murder after teenager dies from stab wounds in Preston

Three teenagers have been charged with murder after a 16-year-old boy died following a stabbing. Sarmad Al-Saidi was found with stab injuries to his chest and legs when police were called to a house in Chatham Place, Preston, Lancashire, at about 5.45pm on Wednesday 23 December. He died in hospital on Sunday. Lancashire Police said Jamie Dixon, 18, of Clayton Avenue, Leyland, and two boys aged 16 and 17, who cannot be named for legal reasons, appeared at Preston Magistrates Court on Monday charged with his murder. The three were remanded in custody to appear at Preston Crown Court on Wednesday. Advertisement A 20-year-old man and a 28-year-old woman, both from Preston, and a 36-year-old woman from Leyland, were also arrested on suspicion of assisting an offender but have since been released under investigation.

Man jailed for committing numerous sex offences on seven-year-old girl A man has been jailed after he was found guilty of committing numerous historical sex offences on a seven-year-girl. Peter Coleman, 46, was arrested in June 2018 after the victim reported the offences, which were committed between 2011 and 2012, to her family. He was sentenced at Preston Crown Court on Friday.  An investigation into the offences found the victim had been targeted by Coleman when she was between seven and eight-years-old. He raped her a number of times and incited her to engage in sexual activity with him. Coleman, of Beach Road, Fleetwood, was charged with the offences but pleaded not guilty at court.

Woman charged with grievous bodily harm following an assault with a sharp instrument A WOMAN has been charged with grievous bodily harm following an assault in Egerton Court in Barrow. The incident took place at 10.08pm on December 14 on Barrow Island. A spokeswoman for Cumbria Constabulary said: Dawn Goodwin, aged 51 of Egerton Court, Barrow was charged with grievous bodily harm with intent, racially aggravated public order and threatening abusive and insulting words or behaviour. She has been remanded in custody to appear at Preston Crown Court on January 15, 2021. A woman in her 30s, from Barrow, was taken to Furness General Hospital after sustaining injuries during the assault.
