Following a successful first season, Grain On The Rocks is bringing back its Rocking the Docks summer concert series.
From 5 to 7 p.m., every Thursday beginning June 24, music lovers will have the opportunity to see live music in a socially distanced atmosphere on the grassy area next to the Cape May-Lewes Ferry terminal off Cape Henlopen Drive.
Like last year, concertgoers may reserve 10-by-10-foot squares. Each square can accommodate up to four people. Guests should bring their own chairs; they can order food and drinks from their smartphone to be delivered to their square.
EASTON â Pressing Strings, an Annapolis-based band known for its folky, soulful and bluesy style, will play the Avalon Theatreâs Stoltz Pavilion at 8 p.m. Saturday, April 17.
The bandâs repertoire consists of original songs infused with robust rhythms and heartfelt songwriting that sound familiar yet remain fresh and innovative.
Founding member Jordan Sokel writes the songs, while bandmates Nick Welker and Brandon Bartlett bring them to life musically. Sokel grew up in the 1990s listening to hip hop, rock, R&B and pop, while eventually getting into a variety of styles influencing Pressing Stringsâ overall vibe, ranging from Bob Dylan to Bob Marley and Al Green to Taj Mahal.

More than a year into the pandemic, most venues for live music and theater remain closed in the region, but a few are slowly and tentatively reopening with the advent of spring and continued loosening of government restrictions. Among these is downtown’s Hamilton Live, with a limited run of limited-capacity, in-person concerts as well as classic movie screenings, accompanied by limited dinner and drink service.
Tickets for all upcoming events are only available for purchase by table, with seatings for two, four, and six spread out in the venue — just 11 tables per concert, 19 per movie screening — and all with the proviso: “Parties may not exceed the size of the purchased table. No more than one table per party.” Unless otherwise noted, all events are at 7 p.m., with doors and food and drink service starting at 6 p.m.
