Now, weddings in Qatar can have 120 people outdoors and 80 indoors: MOPH

The Ministry of Public Health (MoPH) has decided to raise the maximum number of people allowed to attend weddings to 120 in open places (outdoors) and to 80 indoors.
There’s been a limit on the number of people allowed in weddings due to coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic.
The ministry emphasised the need for commitment to implement all preventive measures such as wearing of masks and keeping a safe distance and activating the Ehteraz application.
The MoPH thanked citizens and residents for their effective contribution and praised their efforts to combat COVID-19, and their commitment to implementing preventive measures, which helped limit the spread of the virus in society.

Doha: Two health centres which were designated as test and hold facilities for COVID-19 suspect cases have resume normal operations, said the Primary Health Care Corporation (PHCC), yesterday.
Earlier in March, PHCC, in collaboration with Hamad Medical Corporation, Ministry of Public Health (MoPH) and partners, had proactively designated four of its health centers to be test and hold facilities. for COVID-19 suspect cases. With Qatar now entering the recovery phase, PHCC has proceeded to phase out and resume normal services to provide complete healthcare services to the patients registered at its health centres.

Ministry of Public Health (MOPH) announced that over 37,000 healthcare workers in Qatar have so far taken the flu vaccine to protect themselves against seasonal influenza– a 56 percent increase over 2019.
The Flu vaccine is recommended for healthcare workers to protect them from getting flu and to reduce transmission of flu from them to their family, colleagues and patients.
“More healthcare workers than ever are now vaccinated against the seasonal flu,” said Dr Hamad Eid Al Romaihi, Director of Health Protection and Communicable Diseases at Ministry of Public Health. “It is important that healthcare workers get vaccinated as early in the flu season as possible. As in previous years we started vaccinating health care workers earlier than the public and this strategy have proven to be successful again.

The year 2020 has seen quick actions and precautions taken by Qatar in healthcare to prevent and limit the spread of COVID-19. Earlier in March, Primary Health Care Corporation (PHCC), in collaboration with Hamad Medical Corporation, Ministry of Public Health (MoPH) and partners, had proactively designated four of its health centers to be Test & Hold facilities for all suspect cases of COVID-19.

Thus, two health centers “Muaither and Al Gharrafa” out of the four dedicated covid-19 HCs – will be deactivated as a COVID-19 dedicated swab facility, and Rawdat Al Khail and Umm Slal health Centers will continue providing their services as a dedicated COVID 19 test & hold facilities.
