Covid-19 quarantine period involving new community outbreaks confirmed Thursday will be increased from 14 to 21 days.
The order from Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc came after 84 cases were recorded in northern provinces of Hai Duong and Quang Ninh. Among them were a 34-year-old woman working for Vietnam Poyun Electronics Co., Ltd. in Hai Duong s Chi Linh Town and a 31-year-old man who works at the Van Don International Airport in Quang Ninh.

Vietnam is preparing for as many as 30,000 new Covid-19 cases as the more infectious variant of the virus first detected in the UK spreads through the north of the country.
The country’s health ministry reported nine new coronavirus cases on Friday in four northern provinces and the capital Hanoi, bringing the total number of local transmissions reported this week to 91.

To further its goal of curbing air pollution, Ho Chi Minh City’s Department of Transport is considering mandating periodic emissions checks on all motorbikes in the locality, with free inspections to be offered to the city’s low income residents.
The proposal was announced at a meeting between Nguyen Huu Tien, deputy head of the Department of Environment under the Ministry of Transport, and Toshiyuki Takahara, vice-president of the Vietnam Association of Motorcycle Manufacturers (VAMM), in order to review findings from trial rounds of emissions checks on motorbikes in the city.
The Communist Party of Vietnam (CPV) will lead Vietnam to new successes, with the successful organisation of the 13th National Party Congress and the approval of orientations for a new period, said Leo Luzar, President of the Czech Republic-Vietnam Friendship Parliamentarians’ Group.
