Cosmetica Italia Assesses Pandemic’s Impact on Italian Beauty Industry

MILAN “Numbers are not comforting us but luckily our performance was slightly better than we expected. This is the moment to react, even if it might take us longer than we thought to return to [pre-pandemic] performances,” said Renato Ancorotti, president of the Italian association of beauty companies Cosmetica Italia during a webinar on Wednesday.
During the event, the organization released preliminary data on the industry’s performance in 2020. Last year, total sales of Italian cosmetics companies were down 12.8 percent to 10.47 billion euros compared to 2019.

Some iterations of the list include a screenshot of additional text from a post which reads: “If EVER someone tells you, things aren’t happening. Show them this. It’s easier to see things are happening when we take a quick glance at the past. Why would governments all around the world be resigning?”

Sicily allows 422 migrants, some with Covid-19, to disembark from Ocean Viking

The rescued migrants include some 140 minors and a few pregnant women. They all took to the sea from the Libyan coastline on inflatable boats with hopes of crossing the central Mediterranean in search for a better life. Many had reached Libya from other African states, including Ivory Coast, Mali and Sudan.
