PM s daughter back home for Christmas

Dr Sonel Rowley-Stewart Santa dropped an early Christmas present for Prime Minister Dr Keith Rowley a few days ago his daughter Dr Sonel Rowley-Stewart returned from New York. This was confirmed to the T&T Guardian last Saturday. This, after Opposition United National Congress sources first spoke of the situation. Rowley-Stewart, who returned last week from New York, is said to be in quarantine but a location hasn’t been disclosed. Health Minister Terrence Deyalsingh, when asked about quarantine for Rowley-Stewart said, “My policy is that I don’t give out information on anyone.” During the COVID- 19 lockdown, in speaking about the pain of families separated, Rowley had several times expressed worry that his daughter was located in New York’s COVID-19 Ground Zero area. He first admitted to being a troubled parent in March when the pandemic rolled worldwide.

On Monday, Dr Rowley said, Yes, my daughter is at home in Trinidad. So I am very happy. Rowley said it was no secret that Sonel and her husband Stephan Stewart were back in TT. She came in on the last flight and has been in quarantine since last Wednesday.

Govt preparing for storage, distribution of COVID vaccine

Minister of Health, Terrence Deyalsingh MP. In anticipation of receiving its first batch of COVID-19 vaccines in the first quarter of 2021, local health authorities are busy preparing facilities for its storage and distribution. And while Health Minister Terrence Deyalsingh has not able to say exactly which vaccine T&T will be receiving or the costs, he assured storage locations are being readied ahead of time. Speaking during the Ministry of Health’s media briefing on Saturday, he said three sub-zero freezers had already been identified within the country which could be used to store the Pfizer vaccine which has to be kept at -72 degrees celsius.

US Embassy: Maduro and backers to blame for Venezuela crisis

US Ambassador Joseph N. Mondello The United States Embassy in Port of Spain said the Maduro regime and his backers, not sanctions, are to blame for the Venezuela crisis. In a statement posted to its Facebook page on Sunday, the Embassy stated there are no sanctions or restrictions on the importation of food and medicines to Venezuela. It added that the United States is the single largest donor of humanitarian assistance for the Venezuela regional crisis and has contributed more than $1.2 billion to the cause since 2017 alone, including over $11 million to support Trinidad and Tobago’s efforts in helping Venezuelans living in the country.
