The Department of Post (India Post) and the India Post Payments Bank (IPPB) on Tuesday launched a new digital payment app ‘DakPay’ for its customers to operate their banking service online.
The Department of Post (India Post) and the India Post Payments Bank (IPPB) on Tuesday launched a new digital payment app âDakPayâ for its customers to operate their banking services online. The app was unveiled as part of its ongoing efforts to provide Digital Financial inclusion at the last mile across India by Union Communications and IT Minister Ravi Shankar Prasad. DakPay will provide digital financial and assisted banking services provided by India Post and IPPB through the postal network across the country. It will facilitate services such as sending money, scanning QR code and making payment for services and merchants digitally.

The Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi will hold bilateral talks with Bangladesh Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina on December 17.
According to a press release by the Ministry of External Affairs, India, “ Virtual Summit will be held between Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi and Prime Minister of Bangladesh H.E. Sheikh Hasina on 17 December 2020. During the Summit, the two leaders will hold comprehensive discussions on the entire spectrum of the bilateral relationship, including further strengthening cooperation in the post COVID era. India and Bangladesh have continued to maintain regular exchanges at the highest level. Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina paid an official visit to India in October 2019. Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi delivered a video message on the historic occasion of Mujib Borsho in March 2020. Both leaders have remained in regular touch during the COVID pandemic.”.

51st IFFI would be organized in a hybrid manner
New Delhi -Union Minister of Information and Broadcasting Shri Prakash Javadekar said that the idea of organizing a film festival to celebrate short films made on coronavirus was wonderful. Speaking at the International Coronavirus Short Film Festival here today, Shri Javadekar said that the festival witnessing participation of 2,800 films from 108 countries on a single topic is an example of peoples’ immense talent. The Minister congratulated the organizers of the festival.
Shri Javadekar said that the pandemic has caused major upsets in countries across the globe. However, he noted, that India has been able to handle the crisis well under the leadership of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, who recognized the crisis early in 2020 and has since been working relentlessly against the threat.
