Political analysts have slammed the British government for its “disgusting” actions and disregard for human rights as it attempts to offload scores of asylum seekers ahead of its departure from the European Union.
During the so-called status quo transition period, legislation known as the Dublin Regulation has given the UK the power to transfer refugees and migrants back to the EU country in which they arrived.
The system is designed to ensure an individual cannot apply for asylum multiple times across different countries.
At the end of the 31 December Brexit transition period, the UK will no longer be able to return asylum seekers who have passed through other EU countries.

A group called the Campaign For Common Sense revealed the result of an analysis of BBC comedy shows yesterday: last month, out of 141 comedians across 364 slots on such programmes as Have I Got News For You and Mock The Week, 74 per cent of the slots were occupied by comedians with publicly pronounced Left-leaning, anti-Brexit, or woke views .
This amazed me. I would not have expected the figure to be that low. If asked to guess, I would have suggested 90 per cent although this might reflect my own bias.
Or it might be because the one BBC comedy show (I use the term generously) that most intrudes on my viewing is something called The Mini Mash Report.

But now, Nick Timothy, a former Joint Downing Street Chief of Staff to Mrs May, has pinpointed three times the bloc has tried to ruin Brexit talks.
Mr Timothy said: “While Britain made unilateral security guarantees, the EU has refused to allow us to participate in its information-sharing security systems.
“When the Government guaranteed the rights of EU citizens in the United Kingdom, Brussels refused for months to reciprocate.
“A top EU official claimed that ‘losing’ Northern Ireland was ‘the price’ Britain had to pay for Brexit.

“And it is undeniable that Brussels has exploited the province throughout the negotiations, even threatening at one point to effectively blockade food imports from Britain.”

Last-Minute Deal Possible? (6:15 p.m.)
A last minute Brexit trade deal is still possible, Irish Deputy Prime Minister Leo Varadkar said, even as both sides warn that failure is more likely.
âItâs very often the case that these deals are only made at the last moment, because everyone needs to be sure that there was the best deal possible, and thereâs nothing else left on the table,â he said in comments broadcast by RTE Radio.
