Screengrab of Alex Salmond on the Alex Salmond Show on RT, 20-12-2018 NICOLA Sturgeon has lambasted Alex Salmond for failing to admit the Russian state was behind the Salisbury chemical weapon attack. The First Minister was “sadly not surprised” that her predecessor, who has had a TV show on a Kremlin-funded channel since 2017, prevaricated on the issue. She said she didn’t recognise the person her mentor had become. Mr Salmond was widely criticised on Wednesday after repeatedly refusing to say if Russia poisoned Sergei and Julia Skripal with the Novichok nerve agent in 2018. Although the former spy and his daughter survived, a local woman, Dawn Burgess, died after coming into contact with a perfume bottle used in the attack.

Joe Biden needs to wise up about Brexit
Joe Biden should be the responsible adult in the room over Northern Ireland. He needs to see that the reckless EU is only interested in playing politics with peace in its ongoing petulance over Brexit
Joe Biden and Martin Schultz On 1 April 2021 11:22 Ever since negotiations on a post-Brexit trade deal started - and even prior to the Withdrawal Agreement - the EU has continuously tried to promote a possible border between Ireland and Northern Ireland as the most significant issue, using it as a tool to undermine the entire Brexit process. This was a tactic that ‘Remainer’ former Prime Minister Theresa May was only too happy to endorse, inevitably resulting in the false idea that Brexit threatens peace on the island of Ireland becoming widely popular. However, in one country more than any other, this scare story has taken hold with those at the very top. This country is the USA, where despite extremely tenuous links in so
London airport expansion not needed until 2030s, says Gatwick
Passenger numbers have fallen to levels last seen in the 1960s as a result of travel restrictions

London airports will not need to expand until at least the 2030s after the industry was hammered by Covid, according to bosses at Gatwick - casting fresh doubt over the future of a third runway at rival Heathrow.
In a filing for bond investors, Gatwick said that extra capacity will not be needed for many years following a near-total collapse in passenger travel triggered by Covid restrictions.
The admission will add to speculation that plans to expand Heathrow are facing a long delay. Passenger numbers at Britain s biggest airport have fallen to their lowest level since 1966.
Sir Alan Duncan
Conservative Party veteran Sir Alan Duncan has claimed he was prevented from becoming Minister for the Middle East after an intervention by the Conservative Friends of Israel group.
Making the claim in his new political diaries, the former MP writes that his new role was agreed until the then Foreign Secretary Boris Johnson alerted him to the fact that CFI “are going ballistic.”
Sir Alan also uses his diary to dispute claims that he has ever “sided with antisemitic people” and instead suggests he has been denied the role as Middle East Minister because he believes in the rights of the Palestinians.
