India s External Affairs Minister (EAM) S Jaishankar on Monday said a closer India-Japan partnership is most natural and has had a central place in the country s modernisation and development efforts. It has long been involved in expansion of our economic and social infrastructure. Across our states and cities, Japanese official development systems have funded roads, rails, urbanisation and energy, Jaishankar stated at an event at the water purification plant in Kharghuli.

For the third time in history, the erstwhile state of Jammu and Kashmir will go without any political representation in Rajya Sabha the upper house of the Indian parliament.
Four members of the parliament from the region, including leader of the opposition Ghulam Nabi Azad, are retiring by the end of this week, leaving their seats vacant.
The region disputed between India and Pakistan used to send six directly elected MPs to Lok Sabha the lower house and four members elected by the state assembly to represent Rajya Sabha, also called the house of states.
Dehradun, Feb 14: Two bodies were recovered early on Sunday from the Tapovan tunnel following a seven-day operation to rescue around 30 people trapped in it after a flashflood-hit Joshimath area of Chamoli district, a senior official said.
