Peruvian Prime Minister Violeta Bermudez reiterated the Government s commitment to building a more inclusive country, with the participation of all involved parties.
According to the Cabinet chief, this is an initiative of vital importance.
Remarks were made during the establishment of the multisectoral commission that will propose and oversee the implementation of measures aimed at the development of indigenous peoples. In this context of democratic transition, the establishment of this commission sends a powerful message to the new government, so that it takes into account the approaches and responses to the needs of indigenous peoples, she said.

Peru s Prime Minister Violeta Bermudez has announced that the arrival of new batches of COVID-19 vaccines will increase in the following weeks, which will secure the immunization of the elderly throughout the country.
In this sense, she reported that, on Wednesday, people over the age of 70 will receive information on the place and date of their vaccination so that they can get their first dose. We will receive a new batch of 200,000 Pfizer doses on Wednesday, and this figure will rise to over 500,000 starting next week, the Cabinet chief remarked. So, we are going to be prepared to vaccinate gradually people aged above 70. We will increase the number of vaccination sites, and the list of those who are eligible to receive the vaccine should be published this weekend, she added.

Bermudez also pointed out that citizens cannot stop taking care of themselves as long as the virus is present and every citizen of legal age is not immunized.

The Governments of Peru and the United States on Tuesday signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) that will enable the development of joint actions for the modernization of the Peruvian forestry sector through sustainable, inclusive, responsible, and profitable economic growth.
Besides, it will increase the impact and efficiency of initiatives aimed at combating illegality, strengthening forest governance and the relationship with the private sector, as well as promoting an inclusive market.
Said document was signed by Prime Minister Violeta Bermudez, USAID/Peru Mission Director Jene Thomas, as well as Ministers Waldo Mendoza (Economy and Finance), Federico Tenorio (Agrarian Development and Irrigation), Gabriel Quijandria (Environment), and Peruvian Agency for International Cooperation (APCI) Executive-Director Jose Antonio Gonzalez.
