Young: Community recovery committee hard at work

NATIONAL Security Minister and Minister in the Office of the Prime Minister Stuart Young says the Community Recovery Committee (CRC) has been hard at work on its mandate to address at-risk communities in TT since it was formed last year.
The committee, in a media release on Wednesday, said it met with two teams from the Inter-American Development Bank (IADB) in a virtual meeting on Tuesday. It said the meetings were held to discuss, agree on and plan projects to enhance and develop communities in East Port of Spain.
Dr Rowley ‘resting comfortably’ after angioplasty, set for second night in hospital
Prime Minister Dr Keith Rowley is set for a second night at the West Shore Medical Hospital, after feeling discomfort on Friday evening. However, a release from the Office of the Prime Minister said he is ‘resting comfortably’ and that his medical procedures today went well.
“The prime minister underwent an angiogram and a subsequent angioplasty which went well,” stated the release. “In accordance with normal medical procedure, the prime minister will be kept for further observation overnight.”

Security, immigration and COVID-19 were on the agenda when Prime Minister Dr Keith Rowley met with Venezuelan Ambassador Carlos Amador Perez Silva this morning at the Diplomatic Centre.
The meeting, which was also attended by Minister of Foreign and Caricom Affairs Dr Amery Browne, Minister of National Security and Minister in the Office of the Prime Minister Stuart Young and Ricardo Sánchez, Chief of the Consular Section of the Venezuelan Embassy, came after weeks of scrutiny of Trinidad and Tobago’s handling of Venezuelan migrants, particularly amid reports that several Venezuelan migrants drowned in a boat headed to T&T from Guiria.
