2nd graft, malversation cases dismissed vs dead accused

Published May 10, 2021, 5:22 PM Sandiganbayan The Sandiganbayan has dismissed the second graft and malversation cases involving P4.9 million in Priority Development Assistance Fund (PDAF) of former North Cotabato 2 nd District Rep. Gregorio Tocmo Ipong filed against the late Aaron Foundation Philippines, Inc. (AFPI) president Alfredo A. Ronquillo due to his death. His first graft and malversation cases involving P9.6 million had been dismissed in September 2020 due to his death long before the cases were filed. His co-accused in the P4.9 million PDAF cases, aside from Ipong, are Technology and Livelihood Resource Center (TLRC) Director General Antonio Ortiz, TLRC Deputy Director General Dennis Cunanan, and TLRC Chief Accountant Marivic Jover. The cases are still undergoing trial by the Sandiganbayan.

Cambe, ex-chief of staff of former Sen Revilla, dies of stroke at NBP

Published April 9, 2021, 8:09 AM Lawyer Richard Cambe, who was convicted of plunder by the Sandiganbayan in 2018 and detained at the National Bilibid Prison (NBP) in Muntinlupa City, died of stroke last Thursday, April 8. Bureau of Corrections (BuCor) Deputy Director General Gabriel P. Chaclag said Cambe was rushed to the Ospital ng Muntinlupa where he died at about 6 p.m. Chaclag said that members of Cambe’s family “have been informed and they requested that their privacy be respected.” “So we can only confirm that he died of stroke. Initial  investigation also shows no signs of foul play so far,” he said.

Revilla mourns death of ex-aide convicted in pork barrel scam who died inside NBP

Sen Bong Revilla s ex-aide convicted in pork barrel scam dies in jail

FILE PHOTO Metro Manila (CNN Philippines, April 9) Richard Cambe, a former staff member of Senator Bong Revilla, died of natural causes while serving jail time in the multi-million peso pork barrel scheme, the Bureau of Corrections said on Friday. Cambe suffered a stroke on Thursday and was brought from the New Bilibid Prison to the Ospital of Muntinlupa where he was declared dead, it said. BuCor spokesperson Gabriel Chaclag said there were no signs of foul play in Cambe s death based on initial investigation. Cambe and co-accused businesswoman Janet Lim Napoles were found guilty of plunder in 2018 for amassing ₱224.5 million worth of Revilla s Priority Development Assistance Fund (PDAF).
