If found guilty, fine, suspension, or removal of PhilHealth accreditation is the penalty.
“Dapat tigil din tayo sa payments kasi public funds ‘tong dini-disburse natin di ba? Pera n’yo ‘to eh. Dapat mas diligent tayo in paying claims and disbursing these funds,” said PhilHealth spokesperson Shirley Domingo.
Fake claims in Philhealth to be investigated
But the Private Hospitals Association of the Philippines (PHAP) has a different view on PhilHealth’s justification.
“Na-notice namin kasi, every time na hindi sila nakababayad sa mga hospital, ‘yan ang ginagawa nilang way of trying to intimidate the hospitals,” said PHAP president Jose de Grano.

The group of private hospitals is in favor of further extending the modified enhanced community quarantine (MECQ) in the National Capital Region plus (Metro Manila, Cavite, Laguna, Bulacan, Rizal) bubble, amid the reduction of coronavirus disease (COVID-19) patients in hospitals in the area.
On Teleradyo, Dr. Jose Rene De Grano, president of the Private Hospitals Association of the Philippines Incorporated, said this is to further reduce the number of COVID-19 cases.
“Kung tatanungin kami kung puwede kahit isang linggo pa nating i-extend. But then nasa kanilang desisyon yun, baka magagawa nila na mga flexible na gaya ng ginagawa nila ngayon,â said De Grano.
