Kyle’s update, 3:10 p.m.: The Washington Football Team has requested to interview 49ers VP of Player Personnel, Martin Mayhew, for their GM job, per Nicki Jhabvala of The Washington Post.
If WFT were to hire Mayhew, the 49ers would receive a third-round compensatory pick for two consecutive years as part of the new rule the NFL implemented to get teams to hire more minorities.
The Carolina Panthers have moved on to their second round of interviews for their vacant general manager position, and 49ers’ VP of Player Personnel Adam Peters is among the candidates that are moving forward.
