CEBU CITY – A string of charges await an army reservist who was arrested for gun smuggling and illegal possession of firearms.
Jhefferson Higoy was arrested on July 2 when agents of the National Bureau of Investigation-Central Visayas (NBI 7) raided his home in Barangay Marigondon, Lapu-Lapu City.

In a press briefing Tuesday, lawyer Renan Oliva, director of NBI-7, said they received reports that Higoy was into selling of firearms and introduced himself as a member of the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) with a rank of a captain.

The Commission said the online oathtaking at 2 p.m. will be spearheaded by PRC San Fernando, Pampanga through Microsoft Teams or Zoom.
“Inductees shall wear a formal or business attire and use a white backdrop (white physical or virtual background) throughout the oathtaking ceremony,” PRC said in a Facebook post.
“Please secure an online appointment schedule at http://online.prc.gov.ph and select ‘e-OATH’ as transaction,” it added.
PRC reminded inductees that the online registration will close five calendar days before the virtual oathtaking day.
Inductees, the Commission said, are also required to print the “Oath of Professional” form that is downloadable at the PRC Online Services.
