House panel endorses separate law to regulate physical therapy professionals

Published May 2, 2021, 11:16 AM The House Committee on Civil Service and Professional Regulations has endorsed the passage into law of a bill that would regulate the registration, licensure and practice of physical therapy in the country. Pampanga Rep. Aurelio D. Gonzales Jr., one of the principal authors of the bill, lauded the decision of the House panel as he noted the urgent need to create a separate Board of Physical Therapy under the Professional Regulation Commission. “The profession of Physical Therapy, as part of allied health sciences, is as important as nursing,” said Gonzalez who filed House Bill 5505. In his version of the bill, Mt. Province Rep. Maximo Dalog sought the creation of a Board of Physical Therapy that will promulgate, administer and enforce rules and regulations necessary in implementing the law.

He collapsed to the canvas as his lower leg snapped in a gruesome manner. Medical personnel treated Weidman before he was taken out of the Octagon on a stretcher, and he underwent surgery the following day. Weidman, who turns 37 in June, said in an Instagram video that both the tibia and fibula were broken. He said surgeons inserted a titanium rod in the leg.

Mascara, an adult entertainment club on Southside Boulevard, was shut down with 12 violations. The restaurant report showed the inspector found five dead roaches and 31 live ones, most of them underneath the bar counter. The club scored another high-priority violation for having boric acid roach powder on the floor in the kitchen. Other violations included a soiled microwave and the presence of a mold-like substance in an ice bin.
