Economic relief bill includes bailout for struggling airline industry
People in the airline industry say it s a good step in changing the course brought on by the pandemic.
FORT WORTH, Texas - The economic relief package includes billions of dollars for the struggling airline industry, and it could mean paychecks will come back to thousands of North Texas families furloughed by the economic downturn.
It certainly is a sigh of relief for those who have been out of work or worried about furloughs down the line. People in the airline industry say it s a good step in changing the course brought on by the pandemic.

Airlines accepting a second round of payroll support from the federal government would be required to recall furloughed employees within 72 hours of agreeing to terms for the assistance package.
Those employees wouldn t get reimbursed for lost wages and benefits between the expiration of the original $25 billion Payroll Support Program (PSP) on Sept. 30 and the end of November. However, they would be guaranteed previous wages and benefits from Dec. 1 through the end of March.
