DELHI: Buying houses believe that Indian man-made fibre (MMF) garment exporters can aspire to grab $20 billion business in global MMF garment trade even as the domestic apparel industry works at resolving its limitations.
This was among the key takeaways from a virtual B2B meeting on ‘Improving MMF Fabric Options for Indian Apparel Exporters’ held between MMF garment exporters, buying houses and fabric suppliers organized by Apparel Export Promotion Council (AEPC) on Tuesday.

Industry players push for using gears manufactured locally 5G networks in India can be deployed in three months but in limited areas as the optical fibre-based infrastructure to support the technology is not ready yet, telecom industry players said on Tuesday.
Nokia India Head of Marketing and Corporate Affairs Amit Marwah said India has to take a call on deployment of 5G services; otherwise it will miss to take advantage of the next-generation technology that it can bring for the economy.

Separately, rating agency Crisil projected India’s GDP growth to rebound to 11 per cent in FY22, after an estimated 8 per cent contraction in FY21 driven by flattening of the Covid-19 affliction curve, rollout of vaccinations and investment-focused government spending and people learning to live with the new normal.
