MTN Foundation donates PPE to Catholic Hospital

MTN Ghana Foundation, as part of its Corporate Social Investment, has donated Protective Personal Equipment (PPEs), to the St Gregory Catholic Hospital at Buduburam in the Gomoa East District of the Central Region.
The PPE included 2,000 nose masks, 10 cartons of gloves, 15 pieces of contactless thermometers, 1,000 pieces of face shields and 30 gallons of methylated spirits.
Speaking to reporters after the donation, the Chief Customer Relations Officer of MTN Ghana, Jemima Kotei Walsh, said the donation formed part of programmes outlined by the MTN Ghana Foundation to support hospitals and frontline health workers across the country to help them fight the COVID-19 pandemic.

During the 10- years of the crisis in Syria, along with the covid-19 pandemic, mothers continue to give birth and new life begins. The people in need are facing impediments in accessing basic health services, especially specialized and much needed reproductive health services including Emergency Obstetric Care. The health system in the country are facing protracted challenges including the destruction of 50% of the health facilities, depleted local markets of reproductive health commodities, and the migration of the perish of health staff due to the crisis. The delivery of quality reproductive health services requires qualified staff including midwives.

KNOX COUNTY, Tenn. Health leaders in Knoxville are reflecting on the past year spent in a pandemic: the accomplishments, shortcomings and outlook in the medical field.
The first case of COVID-19 reported in Knox County came on March 12, 2020. Since then, the numbers of positive cases, hospitalizations and deaths fluctuated through the remainder of 2020 and into 2021.
Knoxville and Knox County were marked as hotspots by the Centers for Disease Control beginning in the summer 2020 months.
