Man who supplied cannabis to friends and family given probation

A Co Antrim man who supplied herbal cannabis to a small group of family and friends was made the subject of a three-year Probation Order today. Paul Williamson appeared at Belfast Crown Court via videolink and was sentenced for a single charge of possessing a Class B drug with intent to supply. From Ballyfore Road in Newtownabbey, Williamson was arrested after a house and car were searched and a total of 372 grams of herbal cannabis was seized. Judge Stephen Fowler QC said that on the afternoon of June 28 last year police entered a property in Newtownabbey. Once inside, officers noted a very strong smell of cannabis, and when the house was searched varying amounts of the Class B drug were found in several areas.

Four charged following stolen theft investigation

On February 17, Huron OPP officers received a report of a suspect that had taken out a pickup truck on a test drive from a dealership located within the county and had failed to return with the vehicle. Police began investigating and were fortunate enough to receive a tip on the location of the stolen vehicle. Officers later attended a property located on Gore Road in Ashfield-Colborne-Wawanosh where they located the stolen Ford F-150 pickup truck along with some other stolen property. Some of the other recovered stolen items included an Arctic Cat snowmobile, a Misk dump trailer and several licence plates.
