Eric Wise, 36, and Molly Flaherty, 33, both from Bridgewater, were taken into custody without incident, according to a statement from Bridgewater police Chief Christopher D. Delmonte. They were arrested on charges of assault and battery, assault with intent to murder, unarmed robbery and assault with intent to commit a felony. Police were called about a man being stabbed at Kingswood Park Village around 7:15 p.m. Christmas Eve. Officers found a man who had been stabbed twice in the lower back, according to police.

An officer approached a car that went off the road and was stuck in brush and trees on Charles Street at 2:33 a.m., the statement said. He found the driver, Joshua L. Johnson, 34, alone, not wearing pants and holding a lighter. The officer asked Johnson to lower the window so they could speak, but Johnson yelled that he would move the car, the statement said.

Brockton police charge woman with illegally possessing gun, ammunition

BROCKTON  A motor vehicle stop of a car with a failed inspection sticker eventually led to an arrest and the seizure of an illegally possessed gun, police said. Detectives stopped a Honda sedan on Grafton Street at about 3:58 p.m. Thursday after noticing the car had a failed inspection sticker. Police say they identified the driver as 27-year-old Carla Maria Gomes, of Brockton. During a search of the car, police say they located a semiautomatic handgun underneath the front passenger s seat. The gun had one round inside, Brockton police spokesperson Darren Duarte said. Gomes admitted to not having a license to carry a firearm, Duarte said.
