BD to get more 60m doses of Covid-19 vaccine by May-June The New Nation

Bangladesh plans to collect more 60 million doses of the Covid-19 vaccine through the World Health Organization s COVAX programme within May-June 2021.
Health Minister Zahid Maleque said it on Monday during a virtual Cabinet meeting chaired by Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina on the progress of the vaccination process.
Cabinet Secretary Khandker Anwarul Islam said it during a press briefing at the Secretariat on the Cabinet meeting. He said also that the government expects to vaccinate 45 million people across the country by May-June after arriving of the COVAX Programme s vaccine.

RAJSHAHI, Dec 18, 2020 (BSS)- About 4.07 lakh children will be brought under one dose of measles-rubella (MR) vaccination each in the Measles-Rubella Campaign-2020 in Rajshahi district.
Deputy Civil Surgeon Dr Raziul Haque disclosed this while addressing a press conference on “Measles-Rubella Campaign-2020′ arranged by the Civil Surgeon Office at its conference room in the city on Thursday.
The Expanded Programme on Immunization (EPI) of Directorate General of Health Services, World Health Organisation, GAVI and UNICEF will extend support in arranging the campaign abiding by the health directives in the wake of the nobel coronavirus (Covid-19) pandemic situation.

• 7,500 community members have received COVID-19 prevention information from the UNICEF supported COVID-19 quarantine management solution (mQuarantine). The mQuarantine application offers a platform for the Ministry of Health to interact with those in self-isolation & quarantine and track in real-time their conditions, while adhering to infection prevention and control measures.
• On 7 December 2020, the Ministry of Health through the Expanded Programme on Immunization submitted, an application for consideration to receive COVAX vaccine and on 14 December 2020 made a request to GAVI for the ultra-cold chain equipment. The country will focus on 20 percent of the total population (0.3 percent Health workers; 10 percent people with co-morbidities and 9.7 elderly).
