KUALA LUMPUR (Bernama): All premises and locations listed under the Hotspot Identification for Dynamic Engagement (HIDE) early warning system are not confirmed Covid-19 clusters, says Khairy Jamaluddin.
However, these premises and locations have the potential to turn into clusters if pre-emptive actions were not taken, the National Covid-19 Immunisation Programme Coordinating Minister said. Premises listed under HIDE are different from the list of clusters issued each day by the Health director-general. Premises listed under HIDE do not need to close except when directed by the authorities. The listing of these locations and premises enables pre-emptive intervention and appropriate action to be taken by the authorities, owners of premises and the public to prevent the emergence of new clusters, ” he said in a statement Saturday (May 8).

PUTRAJAYA: The government has agreed to list premises at risk of Covid-19 transmission through the Hotspots Identification for Dynamic Engagement (HIDE) system, starting May 7 (Friday).
National Covid-19 Immunisation Programme Coordinating Minister, Khairy Jamaluddin, said that the decision was made through the National Security Council (MKN) meeting following the recent spike in the number of new Covid-19 cases in the country.
“The list enables the owners of the premises and the public to take appropriate action to prevent the occurrence of clusters triggered by the premises.
“Besides that, it also allows the business premises involved to be identified as a ‘hotspot’ for the possibility of the formation of large clusters,” he said at a press conference on the implementation of the HIDE system today.
