The production of Citroën C5 Aircross has commenced in India, folks. Yep, the first unit of the upcoming SUV was recently rolled off the assembly line at the CK Birla manufacturing facility in Thiruvallur, Tamil Nadu. But that is not the only interesting piece of news the company has to share the French automaker also hinted at the new C5 Aircross SUV s India launch date. Okay, fine it did not say for exactly when the event has been scheduled, but did say that the Citroën C5 Aircross SUV will likely become available for retail across the country in March 2021.

Citroen India has started production of its first offering for the Indian market, the Citroen C5 Aircross, at its its manufacturing facility in Thiruvallur, Tamil Nadu. The C5 Aircross will be the French brand s flagship offering and is set to debut in India next month. Production of the SUV begins after prototype put in over 2.5 lakh kilometres in testing across a range of Indian conditions.
Citroen has also revealed details of the C5 Aircross engine-gearbox combination and features set. The C5 Aircross will be powered by a 2.0-litre diesel engine that makes with 181PS and 400 Nm. An eight-speed Aisin-sourced torque converter will be the gearbox option paired with ESC-based drive modes.
The first C5 Aircross SUV has rolled off the production line as Citroen gears up to launch it in India.

The C5 Aircross is based on the PSA EMP2 platform. The SUV features funky styling with a split grille, chunky bumpers and body cladding with bright coloured inserts. Inside, it gets an 8-inch touchscreen infotainment head-unit and a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster. The SUV also comes with a panoramic sunroof, hands-free tailgate, dual-zone automatic climate control and a powered driver s seat.
