NEW DELHI: Citroen announced its entry in the Indian market back in 2019 and in the year 2021, we finally have some action coming from the automaker. Citroen C5 Aircross will be the French automaker’s first offering in the Indian market. It definitely is a smart move considering the robust demand for SUVs in India, but the automaker is far from promoting its new offering as a more-than-capable SUV. The Upcoming Citroen C5 AirCross is all set to be introduced in India in the coming weeks, and ahead of its launch, the company has released details regarding its engine and other specifications. The new C5 AirCross is the first product to be launched in India by the French carmaker, and it comes to our shores as CKD (Completely Knocked Down) model, and it is assembled locally at the company s plant in Thiruvallur, Tamil Nadu. The company recently rolled out the first Citroen C5 Aircross SUV, officially beginning the commercial production.
The C5 Aircross will be powered by a 2.0-litre diesel engine. The SUV will be equipped with Citroen s Progressive Hydraulic Cushions suspension.
French carmaker Citroen will enter the Indian market later this year. We now have details of the brand s first offering - the C5 Aircross.
Exterior:
The C5 Aircross is based on the PSA EMP2 platform. It measures 4,500 mm in length, 2,099 mm in width, 1,710 mm in height and its wheelbase is 2,730 mm. The car s boot capacity is 580 litres, which can be expanded to 1,630 litres by folding the rear seats down.
In India, the C5 Aircross will be offered in two variants - Feel and Shine. The SUV will come equipped with LED projector headlamps with LED daytime running lights, ORVMs with integrated turn indicators, LED tail lamps and 18-inch diamond-cut alloy wheels.
