UNLIKE other states that are either governed by the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, or All Progressives Congress, APC, Anambra State is politically unique. By March 2021 Anambra would have been under the leadership of the All Progressives Grand Alliance, APGA, for an uninterrupted period of 15 years.
This is a feat that was made possible by Mr. Peter Obi, the immediate past governor of the state, when he was a member of APGA. The question that begs for an answer is, now that Anambra 2021 is here, will APGA remain in charge or be shown the way out? And if the latter happens, which political party will take over?
Last week, the monarch of Igbariam community in Anambra North senatorial District bowed to death, eight days after his suspension by the Anambra State Government was lifted. David-Chyddy Eleke examines the incidents that preceded his demise
On January 4th, the people of Igbariam community in Anambra East local government area of the state converged on the royal square of the monarch of the community, Igwe Kelly Nkeli Nzekwe for his traditional Ofala ceremony. It was a happy moment for the monarch and also for his subjects who converged to celebrate him. His seven-month reign as Chief Executive of Imo State was cut short in a controversial pronouncement by the Apex Court. Likewise, Chief David Lyon of the All Progressives Congress on February 13, 2020., the eve of his swearing-in had the

Following the conduct of the United States President, Donald John Trump, at the twilight of his presidency, a frontline governorship hopeful on the platform of All Progressives Congress (APC) in Anambra State, Sir Azuka Okwuosa, has called on the state voters to learn from the records of the outgoing US President to elect a balanced person as governor.
Anambra State will go to the polls later in the year to elect a governor that would succeed Chief Willie Obiano of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA).
Okwuosa, a former chairman of APC Reconciliation Committee in the state, said developments around President Trumpâs last days in office should make them to be very critical of the many billionaires aspiring to govern the state.
