Space Launch Delta 30 provided range support for the successful launch of the Tactically Responsive Launch-2 mission for the U.S. Space Force.
Space Launch Delta 30 provided launch permission, range safety, area clearing and weather support for the launch that happened at 1:11 a.m from Vandenberg.
âOur mission partners and Delta 30 team demonstrated the Space Force tactical response capability to launch small satellite payloads within three weeks,â said Col. Robert Long, Space Launch Delta 30 commander. âIt takes a resilient team providing agile services and responsiveness to our launch customers for mission success. The U.S. Department of the Air Force is in the run to utilise emerging reusable rocket technology for global cargo transportation under its Rocket Cargo Vanguard project.
On June 4, the department announced the designation of Rocket Cargo as the fourth Vanguard program as part of its transformational science and technology portfolio identified in the DAF 2030 Science and Technology strategy for the next decade. Additionally, the U.S. Space Force was designated as the lead service for Rocket Cargo Vanguard, marking the service’s first such program.
