The minister reiterated that reforms have been made in the interest of farmers and will bring about a new era in Indian agriculture. Over 51L farmers to benefit as govt deposits Rs 2,000 under PM-KISAN

Around 51.34 lakh farmers from Gujarat are set to be benefitted as Rs 2,000 each is digitally deposited in the bank accounts of nine crore cultivators under the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi (PM-KISAN) on December 25, state agriculture department officials said. In all, around Rs 1,020 crore will be deposited in the accounts of these farmers, officials added.

State BJP president C R Paatil on Monday appealed all the party workers in the state to ensure that maximum people listen to Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s address on farmers’ interest and importance of the new farm laws on December 25.
An official party release said the party is celebrating December 25, the birth anniversary of former prime minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee, as ‘Sushasan Divas’. This year, Modi will address the country on the importance of the new farm laws on December 25. On the same day, it added, the PM will digitally deposit a total of Rs 18,000 crore in the bank accounts of nine crore farmers under the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi scheme.
More than six cooperative societies in Amreli district of Gujarat held their AGMs together in the premises of AMR Dairy on Saturday last week. Besides other things, the issue of farmers agitation in different parts of India against the farm bills echoed in the meeting.
Keeping in view the safety and physical distance protocols, only key persons were present at the spot and the rest including members and others were connected through video conferencing.
Big video screens were set up in 11 Taluka of Amreli District for seeing the proceedings of the meeting. The event was also live streamed on Facebook and YouTube. The AGMs which saw an unprecedented turnout passed off smoothly.
