GRANITE BAY, Calif. Eighteen abandoned puppies were found in a vacant Granite Bay home, according to the Placer County Sheriff s Office.
Deputies found the puppies living in the home on Crown Point Vista on Monday, Dec. 28, 2020, after receiving reports of suspicious circumstances.
When deputies arrived, they discovered the home was vacant and the puppies dumped inside. Fifteen of the 18 puppies were living in a closet with blankets and food, according to a Facebook post from the sheriff s office.

Dec. 21 Two people were injured Sunday after dropping 1,000 feet down a cliff while driving in Placer County, deputies said.
According to the Placer County Sheriff’s Office, the vehicle drove off Mosquito Ridge Road and plunged down the cliff, ejecting the passenger from the car, while the man who was driving was still inside. Deputies responded to the area around 7 a.m.
A woman who was the passenger was able to climb to the road and stop someone to get help, deputies said. The woman, who suffered moderate injuries, was driven to Foresthill Fire Station 88.

GRANITE BAY, Calif. A Roseville man has been arrested in connection with a crime spree that started at an Ace Hardware in Granite Bay.
The Placer County Sheriff s Office said in a Facebook post that Robby McDermott, 30, was arrested on Thursday, Dec. 17, after a four-month investigation.
According to the sheriff s office, McDermott was wanted for multiple crimes that happened on Aug. 17, 2020. McDermott allegedly started the spree by shooting out the glass doors of the Ace Hardware store with a pellet gun. He then allegedly broke into Genie s Afghan Restaurant located next door and put the cash register in a garbage can before dragging the whole thing to his car and driving
