(Bloomberg) Nintendo Co. said its highly anticipated next game in the Zelda franchise, a sequel to Breath of the Wild, will be out in 2022.

The company didnât share a final title or many other details, although a brief trailer showcased the gameâs hero, Link, using abilities that werenât in the first game. Series producer Eiji Aonuma said the sequel would take place in the skies above the first gameâs world.

(Bloomberg) Nintendo Co. is gearing up for record software and Switch sales in the coming year, a much stronger performance than investors are projecting, according to the company’s partners and suppliers.
Kyoto-based Nintendo is planning for sales of its signature Switch game console to be flat or slightly higher in the fiscal year ending March 2022, boosted by the introduction of a version with an OLED display, according to executives at allies including component suppliers, software publishers and retailers. Analysts have forecast console sales would decline next year.

(Bloomberg) Nintendo Co. faces a complaint from a European consumer group over what it calls âsystematic problemsâ with the controllers for the companyâs popular Switch games console.
European consumer protection organization BEUC said it filed a complaint with the European Union and national consumer protection organizations after evidence from users showed that in 88% of cases, âthe game controllers broke within the first two years.â
