Justin Pallo is a senior at Montana State University Billings who decided to volunteer his time by reading Spanish picture books to kids in the community
Pallo said Wednesday morning that he started speaking Spanish after taking classes in high school but progressed in his fluency later.
âI was a missionary in Argentina for a couple years and having to use it every single day really helped me develop that. Once I got home from that, I was a Spanish interpreter at a small clinic in Utah,â said Pallo.
BILLINGS - Montana State University Billings announced Friday they will host a Virtual Bell Ringing Ceremony in commemoration of Civil Rights Activist Martin Luther King Jr. on Jan. 18 at 9:30 a.m.
MSUB said the bell ringing ceremony represents the continual urge for human rights, social justice and peace among all people.
They announced this yearâs event is being held virtually to protect students and keep the community safe during the COVID-19 pandemic.
The pre-recorded ceremony will include guest speakers such as local and state leaders, MSUB Chancellor, MSUB campus minister and various student leaders. MSUB Student Emerald Hart will be performing a musical number of âAmazing Grace.â

BILLINGS â St. John s United long-term care facility in Billings received a donation that will allow five additional students to receive their education debt-free through a newly-established nurse apprenticeship fellowship program, according to a media release from St. John s.
In October, Stockman Bank gave a challenge donation of $50,000. On December 31, St. John s announced 23 community donors contributed an additional $60,000, for a total of about $110,000 donated to the fellowship program.
The program was started in April 2020 with an initial gift of $1 million from the Bruno and Evelyn Betti foundation of Lacey, Washington. St. John s signed on the first five nursing students in June 2020.
