The Havre Education Association hosted a Havre Public School Board candidate forum Thursday in Hensler Auditorium on the Montana State University-Northern campus. The forum was moderated by Chairman of the Havre Public Schools Education Foundation Kyle Leeds. There were nine questions from the HEA and public questions as well as follow-up questions were allowed.

Shepherd s Homage to Africa collection features African art that she has been collecting for 30 years.Lukas Prinos / Montana Kaimin Each intricate textile, black feather mask and abstract wooden sculpture featured in the Montana Museum of Art and Culture’s “Homage to Africa” exhibit tells the story of the diverse and rich cultures of Africa — a story historically misunderstood by Western society. “An exhibition like this can expose us to many different cultures and languages and artistic traditions,” said Rafael Chacón, the director of the MMAC and an art professor at UM. “The more we see of this art, the better informed we will be as citizens.”
